SLYK Branding Development

SLYK is a brand of phone stand and charging station product founded in UK. I initiated the process by conducting market research to understand where is the brand's positioning and to outline its key qualities and benefits. Subsequently, I crafted an outstanding brand logo and tagline.

The product design language was based on these ten principles.

I started with 2 concept designs which were clean & sharp and clean & warm. I ended up prefer the second concept because it gave more friendly feeling and so does the client. They mentioned that because this product is home product for everyone to use so the friendly feeling is important. Since we decided to use only one color for the logo which was black so I added curves to the typeface and make it rounded corner.

The next step involved selecting a color palette and typography. Initially, I received a description of the product as being smooth, shiny, and elegant. In response, I opted for shades of gray and gold, along with white, for their website and packaging design. Gold was chosen to convey a shiny and luxurious appearance, and it also provided a strong contrast with black.

For this branding design, I exclusively employed sans-serif fonts. This choice was made to align with the modern nature of the product, as serif fonts didn't convey the desired aesthetic. These fonts were also carefully integrated into the logo design. Each font was selected for its clean and legible appearance, making them well-suited for both the website and packaging.

After all Here is the logo along with the tagline, presented in the context of how it would appear on the packaging.
